Best (and FREE) Apps to Download Before Your Walt Disney World Vacation

Before heading to Walt Disney World, I recommend downloading several FREE apps, which will help make your life a little bit easier while on vacation. Wherever required, set up account with usernames and passwords PRIOR TO when your vacation starts, this way when/if you need to use the app while on vacation, you will be prepared and ready to go!

First and foremost, please make sure you download the My Disney Experience app. This app provides your reservation information, dining reservations, Fastpass+ reservations, attraction and bus wait times, and so much more! You almost can’t live without it while on vacation at WDW. The My Disney Experience app, of all on the list, is the most critical (in my opinion).

1. My Disney Experience App

This app will be your BEST FRIEND while on vacation. Find everything you need including WDW resort and dining reservations, attraction wait times, entertainment schedules, restrooms, bus times (available when onsite) and more!

2. Shop Disney

Before you arrive, scan the app and make a list of Disney Park merchandise you like/want.  Already home and realize you forgot to buy something? Now you can buy direct from the app! A lot of the Disney Park merchandise can also be found on the app.

3. Play Disney Parks

This interactive gaming app allows guests to join in the fun on select attractions, test your knowledge and listen to Disney Park music on Apple Music. Currently available for Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

4. Lyft

Need a “lyft” to your next destination within the Walt Disney World Resort? Take a Minnie Van! Download the Lyft app and set up an account. Use the app to schedule and pay for your Minnie Van when at WDW! For more on Minnie Vans, click here!

5. Uber

Don’t want to use a Minnie Van? Traveling off Disney property? Download the Uber app and create an account. Use it to schedule and pay for your Uberservice.

6. Countdown App

Download a Countdown app and keep track of how many days you have left until your magical vacation!

7. Airline Apps

Flying to Orlando International Airport (MCO)? Download your airline app (Delta, JetBlue, United, etc.) and be sure to create an account. Flight times, flight changes, boarding passes and everything you need is right at your fingertips!

8. Maps/Traffic Apps

If you opt to rent a car, be sure to download a Maps/Traffic app such as Maps, Waze, Google Maps, etc. Bure sure to have all of your addresses handy to plug in to the app to ensure you get to your destination fast and without any issues.

9. Social Media

Want to share your magical vacation memories with friends and family? Who doesn’t these days! Be sure to download all of your social media apps (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), or download apps like Buffer or Hootsuite to share to all social platforms at once!

10. Photo Apps

Be sure to set up the cloud (iCloud/Google), or download apps such as Shutterfly so all of your photos you snap on vacation auto upload and save directly from your smartphone. Saves a lot of time and work!
