Cast Members: Saying Thank You is Easy

Have you ever thanked a Cast Member (CM) at Walt Disney World for a good deed? They all work so hard to make our Walt Disney World vacation happy, safe and magical. Especially during busy times, like Spring Break and the holiday season! They work tirelessly to keep everything running smoothly, and they deserve to be recognized! And quite honestly, I don’t think we do it enough.

Our interactions with Disney Cast Members begin the moment we check-in into our resort hotel and don’t stop until the end of our fabulous vacation. Many of our experiences are positive ones, and we owe it to the CM’s to let them know!

There are several different ways to say thank you, and with technology today, it makes it even easier. It takes so little effort and time on our part, and means the world to each of them.

IMPORTANT TIP: Be sure to write down the name of the Cast Member and where he/she is from (it’s on all of their name tags!). This guarantees the message will get to the right CM!

Here is a list of all the ways you can say thank you during your next stay at Walt Disney World!

Submit Cast Compliment in My Disney Experience App

The easiest and preferred way to thank a Cast Member is to do so using the My Disney Experience App. It’s quite simple. In the menu option you’ll see Cast Compliment as an option. Click that and fill out the details requested.

Here’s are a few screenshots of what you’ll see:

Visit Guest Relations

The very best way you can thank a Cast Member is to visit Guest Relations directly and leave your feedback. Disney prides themselves on customer service, so the feedback is extremely important and critical for them to constantly improve themselves. The one drawback to leaving feedback in person is that often there are long lines at Guest Relations and you may not want to wait. You’re in luck, because there are other way to share your comments, read on!

Call or Email Guest Relations

If you don’t want to wait in line at Guest Relations, or you don’t have time at the end of the day, you can call or email Walt Disney World Guest Communication to share your Cast Member experience at 407-824-4321 or wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com. You will receive an automated response to confirm they’ve received your email.

Tweet @CastCompliment

This is an unofficial page, and I would normally not include this, however in this technological age we live in, it’s even easier to share your feedback directly through social media if you choose. Tweet your experience using the hashtag (#CastCompliment) to the Twitter page @CastCompliment. Again, this is an “unofficial” page but it is a way to recognize a Cast Member.

Thank You Notes

Sometimes it’s as simple as handing out thank you notes to Cast Members that are extra helpful. You can find an array of templates by doing a quick Google search online or Etsy. Print them out before your vacation and take them with you. Cast Members truly appreciate them.

Be Kind, Be Gracious and Be Patient

It’s that simple! Be on your best behavior. Cast Members deal with thousands of guests on a daily basis. Their job is to keep things running smoothly and in order. The easiest and most appreciative way that we can all thank Cast Members is to follow the rules and listen to their instructions. Be kind, be gracious and be patient! Remember, they are there to help make our vacations magical!

Why Does It Matter?

Why Does it Matter? A thank you note will go directly to a Cast Member’s Manager. Cast Members are acknowledged in small and big ways for the achievements and accomplishments. Any thank you notes will also go into a Disney Cast Members permanent file, and could help lead them to transfers or promotions!

So take some time and recognize someone who spread a little magic and made your day even better and brighter. It goes a very long way at Disney and the Cast Members appreciate it more than we know!
