It should come as no surprise that the holidays will look a bit different at Walt Disney World this year. With all other major events canceled since COVID-19 hit in March, many were awaiting the news to hear if Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party would be victim to the virus. Alas, it is. At least for 2020. But that doesn’t mean the holidays won’t be celebrated with style at all four parks. Continue reading to learn what you can expect if visiting the parks this season.
Holiday Festivities Across Walt Disney World Resort
Beginning November 6 through December 30th, Guests will be able to enjoy festive décor, themed merchandise, seasonal food & beverage offerings and entertainment all across Walt Disney World Resort.

Magic Kingdom
- Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is canceled
- Character cavalcades will take on a special holiday twist, with Christmas friends on festive floats in their holiday finest. Don’t miss the Gingerbread Men, Elves and Reindeer!! And our beloved Toy Soldiers will join the Main Street Philharmonic as they march through Magic Kingdom Park, bringing musical holiday cheer for all to hear.
- Castle Dream Lights not happening this year. Instead, various holiday projections will light up Cinderella Castle throughout the evening, and serve as an amazing backdrop to all your holiday photos.
EPCOT
- Candlelight Processional is canceled
- On November 27, EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays returns! Holiday kitchens will return to the World Showcase promenade highlighting holiday favorites.

Hollywood Studios
- Enjoy the merry motorcades at Hollywood Studios
- Minnie Mouse will be hosting a yuletide gathering at Hollywood & Vine, featuring Santa Goofy and many others in their holiday best.
Animal Kingdom
- At Animal Kingdom, Guests will be delighted by the sight of festive flotillas
Disney Springs
- The traditional Christmas Tree Trail is canceled, however you can see decorated Christmas Trees scattered throughout Disney Springs.
- In the evening, guests visiting areas within Town Center, West Side and The Landing will encounter a magical snowfall, adding an extra touch of wonder to their holiday shopping.
- Jock Lindsey’s will turn into Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar, complete with holiday decor and special limited-time menu.
Disney Resort Hotels
- The resort lobbies will be adored with holiday decor and Christmas Trees
- The famous gingerbread displays will not return this season due to social distancing restrictions.
